A geologist and father who’s still trying to get over the tsunami that struck his city years earlier (in the 2015 film The Wave has a whole new natural disaster to deal with in the Norwegian action-thriller The Quake.
Director John Andreas Andersen’s feature film debut, The Quake follows Kristian Eikjord (Kristoffer Joner, The Revenant), who’s still trying to come to grips with his new life in Geiranger In the years since the previous disaster, Kristian and the love of his life Idun (Ane Dahl Torp, 1001 Grams) have separated and his estranged family is living in the Oslo-region, the most seismic active area in northern Europe. Kristian soon learns that their fate is on the line once again as the land forewarns a massive earthquake that will surely outperform the disaster that rocked the city in 1904. Unable to escape before Mother Nature strikes again, Kristian now races against the clock to save Idun and his daughter from a collapsing skyscraper.

It’s pretty solid (even if it is about an earthquake) with a long build-up until it all goes down. Definitely worth catching!
