The documentary The Brink from director Alison Klayman (Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry) offers the story of media executive and political figure Steve Bannon and the story of his conservative far right-wing thinking.

Spreading an ideology that resonates with some and ignites protest amongst others, Bannon continues to influence despite his departure from Trump’s White House after seven months. Set against a backdrop of nationwide political unrest, The Brink provides a look into Bannon’s power amid the 2018 U.S. mid-term elections as he pushes his political agenda further into mainstream American culture.

Bannon, who is also considered to be a gay icon of sorts, continues to draw headlines and protests wherever he goes, feeding the powerful myth on which his survival relies.
