From producer Ismail Merchant, writer Ruth Prawer Jhabvala and director James Ivory of Howard’s End and The Remains of the Day fame comes the 1995 period drama Jefferson in Paris.

Nick Nolte (48 Hrs.) stars with Greta Scacchi (Heat and Dust) in this story, which revolves around Thomas Jefferson’s unforgettable visit to liberal and socially permissive France 1784, where he meets and falls in love with a worldly and mysterious woman. But when the alluring charms of another prove irresistible, he finds himself courting scandal in a heated triangle of passion and desire.

The cast also includes such familiar faces as Thandie Newton (For Colored Girls), Gwyneth Paltrow (Contagion), Vincent Cassel (Black Swan) and James Earl Jones (End of the Road).

The Blu-ray and DVD’s key bonus feature is an audio commentary by director James Ivory.
