The show Dr. Laszlo Kreizler (Daniel Brühl, Rush), a brilliant and obsessive New York City-based “alienist” in the controversial new field of treating mental pathologies, who holds the key to hunting down a never-before-seen ritualistic killer murdering young boys.

Along with Bruhl, the show co-stars Luke Evans (The Girl on the Train) and Dakota Fanning (The Runaways), The Alienist truly offers the story of the emergence of the world’s most powerful city that will stop at nothing to bury its darkest secrets.

The series received six Emmy Award nominations and two Golden Globe Award nominations, including being nominated for the 2018 Emmy in the Outstanding Limited Series category as well as Best Television Limited Series at the 2019 Golden Globes.
