Two masters of modern horror—Dario Argento (The Bird With the Crystal Plumage) and the late George Romero (Day of the Dead)—direct a pair of shockers inspired by the tales of Edgar Allan Poe in the 1990 horror film Two Evil Eyes, available now as part of a killer special edition from Blue Underground.
In Romero’s The Facts In The Case Of Mr. Valdemar, a conniving wife (Adrienne Barbeau, The Fog) and her lover use a hypnotic trance to embezzle a fortune from her dying husband, only to receive some chilling surprises from beyond the grave. Then in Argento’s The Black Cat, a deranged crime scene photographer (Harvey Keitel, Taxi Driver) is driven to brutal acts of madness and murder by his girlfriend’s new pet. But will this cunning feline deliver a final sickening twist of its own?
The horrific creation also features grisly makeup effects by gore artiste extraordinaire Tom Savini (Maniac).
Blue Underground’s three-disc edition features of Two Evil Eyes features a new 4K restoration from the film’s original camera negative, along with a slew of exclusive and archival extras.
