With Meryl Streep (The Devil Wears Prada), Steve Martin (The Pink Panther), Alec Baldwin (TV’s 30 Rock) and $110 million in box office revenue, It’s Complicated is a romantic comedy juggernaut, and was released on DVD and Blu-ray on April 27, 2010.
Of course there aren’t any original ideas anymore, but this does have a great twist on the man leaves wife story, in that this time, man (Baldwin) leaves wife (Streep) and marries younger girlfriend (Lake Bell, No Strings Attached), then Streep meets new man (Martin), but Baldwin and and Streep rekindle their passion, so now Streep’s the other woman. Sound complicated? Apparently, it is. As well as funny.
The Office‘s John Krasinski and funny woman Rita Wilson (Old Dogs) also star.
Universal Studios Home Entertainment‘s movie debuted with the studio’s usual pricing: $29.98 for DVD and $36.98 for Blu-ray.
The studio has kept the special features light, with the DVD offering a making-of featurette and commentary with producer/writer/director Nancy Meyers, executive producer Suzanne Farwell, director of photography John Toll and editor Joe Hutshing.
The Blu-ray adds BD-Live access and Universal’s Pocket Blu, which turns an iPhone into a remote control.
