For the 25th anniversary of science-fiction movie Back to the Future, Universal Studios Home Entertainment released the movie and its two sequels on high-definition Blu-ray on Oct. 26, 2010.
The time-traveling adventure executive-produced by Steven Spielberg rocketed Michael J. Fox to a household name when the original was released in 1985. Fox plays Marty McFly, who accidentally gets into a time machine built into a DeLorean and ends up in 1955, where he meets his parents as teenagers and threatens his own existence by stopping them from getting together.
Christopher Lloyd (Jack and the Beanstalk) stars as the scientist who built the time machine, Lea Thompson (TV’s Caroline in the City) plays Fox’s mother and Crispin Glover (Hot Tub Time Machine) his dad. Others in the trilogy include Thomas F. Wilson (The Informant), Elisabeth Shue (Leaving Las Vegas), Billy Zane (Sniper: Reloaded), Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings) and Mary Steenburgen (Parenthood).
In the second movie, Fox’s McFly goes to the future to fix his children, and in the third, he gets sent back to the Old West.
The Back to the Future 25th Anniversary Trilogy, which also is available on DVD, includes these bonus features:
