New Release: Triage DVD and Blu-ray

War drama Triage, starring Colin Farrell (The Way Back) as a haunted war-time photojournalist, arrived on DVD and Blu-ray on Aug. 10 by National Entertainment Media. Each format carries a suggested retail price of $24.98.

In the vein of The Hurt Locker and Brothers, Triage is based on the best-selling novel by American veteran war correspondent Scott Anderson.

Directed by Danis Tanovic, the helmer of the 2002 Foreign Language Oscar winner No Man’s Land, the movie tells the tale of battle-scarred war photographer Mark Walsh (Farrell). As Walsh has a well-earned reputation for working in some of the most unforgiving locations on Earth, his editor (Juliet Stevenson, Bend It Like Beckham) asks him to cover the fighting in Kurdistan, an assignment he accepts without question. Despite the danger and concerns of his wife (Paz Vega, Sex and Lucia), Walsh and photographer David (Jamie Sives, TV’s Game of Thrones) head off to the Middle East. But when Mark goes through a near-death experience and returns home without his friend and colleague, he’s an entirely different person.

Although the drama film wasn’t shown in theaters in the U.S., it did get a big-screen run overseas and was screened at numerous film festivals, including Toronto.

Supplements on the DVD and Blu-ray include interviews, a featurette and behind-the-scenes footage.
