Lionsgate released Killers on DVD and Blu-ray on Sept. 7, 2010. The romantic comedy starring Ashton Kutcher (No Strings Attached) and Katherine Heigl (Life As We Know It) grossed $46 million in theaters.
In Killers, Heigl goes on vacation with her over-protective parents and falls for Kutcher, who, unbeknownst to her, is an international spy. Longing for a more normal life, Kutcher quits the spy game and marries Heigl. All is fine for a few years, until one day when Kutcher’s former boss contacts him then shows up dead. Now, Heigl and Kutcher’s neighbors are turning on them with guns. While the couple try to survive, they must also figure out who put the hit on them.
Tom Sellick (TV’s Blue Bloods) and Catherine O’Hara (Home Alone) also star in the movie as Heigl’s rather odd parents.
The DVD and Blu-ray was priced at $29.95 and $39.99, respectively, and includes these special features:
- deleted, alternative and extended scenes
- gag reel
- and “Killer Chemistry: Behind the Scenes with the Killers Cast” featurette.
Despite a decent box-office gross, Killers wasn’t well liked by critics. Rotten Tomatoes reported that critics and users gave Killers only a 12% approval. Ouch!
