The original Rush Hour action comedy movie, starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, got its Blu-ray debut on Dec. 7, 2010, from Warner Home Video.
The PG-13-rated buddy cop film, directed by Brett Ratner (Red Dragon), follows a brash American LAPD detective (Tucker) as he gets partnered with Chan. Reluctantly working together, they must rescue the kidnapped daughter of a visiting Hong Kong official. Tom Wilkinson (The Ghost Writer) and Elizabeth Pena (Jacob’s Ladder) also star.
Rush Hour grossed $141 million when it was released in theaters in 1998, and spawned two sequels. Rush Hour 3 was one of the first titles to be released on high-definition Blu-ray.
The Rush Hour Blu-ray will come with these special features:
- commentary by Ratner
- additional scenes
- “A Piece of the Action: Behind-the-Scenes of Rush Hour” featurette gallery
- Ratner’s short film “What Ever Happened to Mason Reese?”
- and two music videos: Dru Hill’s “How Deep is Your Love?” and Heavy D & the Boyz’s “Nuttin’ But Love.”
These special features were also on the Rush Hour DVD released earlier.
