The third movie in the Twilight Saga based on the novels by Stephenie Meyer, Eclipse arrived on DVD and Blu-ray on Dec. 4, 2010.
Summit Entertainment chose an unusual Saturday release date, but it’s usual for the Twilight movies, which Summit has always debuted on disc on Saturdays so the films’ younger fans can go to midnight release parties without worrying that it’s a school night.
The PG-13 vampire romance film Eclipse stars Kristen Stewart (Welcome to the Rileys), Robert Pattinson (Water for Elephants) and Taylor Lautner (Valentine’s Day).
It was delivered in four varieties: a single DVD, a two-DVD special edition, a single Blu-ray and a Blu-ray/DVD flip disc.
The single Blu-ray contains only the movie, but the Blu-ray/DVD includes these special features on both the DVD and Blu-ray sides:
- audio commentary with stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart
- audio commentary with novel series author Stephenie Meyer and producer Wyck Godfrey
- and a six-part making-of documentary.
The Blu-ray side also has these:
- the documentary in picture-in-picture
- deleted and extended scenes
- photo gallery
- music videos
- and Fast-Forward feature to jump to scenes for Edward, Jacob, love triangle, the Cullens, the wolfpack, the humans and Victoria’s army.
The two-DVD special edition includes these special features:
- deleted and extended scenes
- the two commentary tracks
- photo gallery
- the six-part making-of documentary
- music videos
- and the Fast-Forward feature for the Edward and Jacob scenes.
The Blu-ray/DVD flip disc was priced at $40.99, the single Blu-ray at $34.99, the two-DVD special edition at $32.99 and the single DVD at $28.99.
Eclipse grossed $300 million in theaters.

Just reading the article above and what the dvd and Blu ray comes with is great. This is the definitely the “greatest” movie of the year (in my opinion). It started with action and ended with it.
Totally Awesome. Can’t wait for it to come out on DVD/Blu-ray.
