Despite starring Jonah Hill (Get Him to the Greek) and John C. Reilly (Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant), the comedy Cyrus got only a limited release in theaters, grossing only $7 million. The movie was released on DVD and Blu-ray from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment on Dec. 14, 2010.
In the quirky romance, divorced Reilly thinks he has found the perfect woman when he meets Marisa Tomei (My Cousin Vinny). The problem is, Tomei’s son (Hill) clings to his mother like lint on a T-shirt, and he’s not about to allow another man get between them.
The R-rated comedy was an official selection at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival and South By Southwest Film Conference & Festival.
The DVD and Blu-ray come with two alternate scenes — “Cyrus at Party” and “Puppet Movie” — and were priced at $29.98 and $39.99, respectively.
