20th Century Fox Home Entertainment celebrated the classic films of director Elia Kazan with the release of the 18-disc Elia Kazan Collection on DVD on Nov. 9, 2010.
Priced at $199.98, the collection contains 15 of the Oscar-winning filmmaker’s movies as well as a new documentary co-directed by Martin Scorsese (Shutter Island) and Kent Jones (writer for TV’s The Daily Show With Jon Stewart) that explores Kazan’s life.
The documentary A Letter to Elia had its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival and its North American premiere at the Telluride Film Festival, and it was an official selection at the New York Film Festival. A Letter to Elia also aired on PBS in October 2010 as part of the channel’s American Masters series.

Five of the films debuted on DVD in the collection: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Viva Zapata!, Man on a Tightrope, Wild River and America, America.
