New Release: Skyline DVD and Blu-ray

Skyline movie sceneAlien invasion movie Skyline is descended onto DVD and Blu-ray on March 22, 2011, from Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

Battling not-great reviews, the science-fiction film grossed only $21.4 million in theaters, but it was made for an estimated $10 million.

Rated PG-13, Skyline stars Eric Balfour (TV’s 24), Scottie Thompson (Star Trek), Brittany Daniel (TV’s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Donald Faison (TV’s Scrubs) as Southern California residents who wake up to see massive alien ships blotting out the Los Angeles skyline. They must find a way to survive as the aliens seem inescapable and indestructible.

Both the DVD and Blu-ray include these special features:

  • deleted and extended scenes
  • alternate scenes
  • pre-vizualization footage
  • commentary with director Greg and Colin Strause
  • and commentary with co-writer/producer Liam O’Donnell and co-writer Joshua Cordes.
  • The Blu-ray also will include Universal’s standard My Scenes and Pocket Blu features.
