Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment debuted the Pixar superhero movie The Incredibles on Blu-ray on April 12, 2011, priced at $45.99 for a four-disc Blu-ray/DVD combo pack with a downloadable digital copy.
Disney had trailered the animated movie on its Fantasia/Fantasia 2000 Blu-ray, which was released in November 2010.
The 2004 The Incredibles movie, from Pixar Studios, won two Academy Awards (Best Sound Editing and Best Animated Film) and features such great voice talent as Craig T. Nelson (TV’s Parenthood), Holly Hunter (Broadcast News), Samuel L. Jackson (The Other Guys) and Jason Lee (Almost Famous).
The fun PG-rated family comedy movie, which tells the story of a family of superheroes, grossed $261.4 million when it was in theaters.
The Blu-ray set comes loaded with special features from the original DVD release as well as these new ones:
- “The Incredibles Revisited: Filmmakers’ Roundtable” — discussion with writer/director Brad Bird (Iron Giant), producer John Walker, story supervisor Mark Andrews, supervising technical director Rick Sayre, production designer Lou Romano, character designer Teddy Newton and supervising animator Tony Fucile
- “Paths to Pixar: Story Artists” — Pixar story artists give insights into their work, their inspiration and paths that led them to work at Pixar
- “Studio Stories: Gary’s Birthday” — a featurette on how the Incredibles crew made a movie when there were not enough work days and too many birthday parties
- “Ending With a Bang! Making the End Credits” — interview with director of photography Andy Jimenez and character designer Teddy Newton and the process of creating the film’s end credits
- and the interactive “The New Nomanisan Island: A Top Secret Redevelopment Plan” — a guided tour of Nomanisan Island, post-Syndrome, pitching the island as a vacation resort paradise.
Extras from the DVD in this set include the short films Jack-Jack Attack and Boundin’ (2003 Best Animated Short).

At long last! One of Pixar’s best, and my personal favorite. Brad Bird is an absolute genius. Can’t wait to see it in all its high-resolution glory!
