It has been 20 years since Tim the Tool Man aired on TV, and Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment celebrated by releasing the entire Home Improvement series in one DVD gift set. Home Improvement: The 20th Anniversary Complete Collection was made available on DVD on May 10, 2011, timed for Father’s Day shopping.
Like the series sets for Everybody Loves Raymond, The King of Queens and Full House, the Home Improvement DVDs comes in a box themed to the comedy show, this time a tool box and a white picket fence. The set was priced at $129.99.
The 1990s sitcom stars Tim Allen (Crazy On the Outside) as Tim Taylor, the host of a television home improvement show, and Patricia Richardson (TV’s The West Wing) as his wife. Taran Noah Smith, Zachery Ty Bryan (The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift) and Jonathan Taylor Thomas (Wild America) play the couple’s children, and the late Earl Hindman (The Taking of Pelham One Two Three) is the neighbor with all the advice. The TV show also starred Pamela Anderson (TV’s Baywatch) early on as Tim’s TV helper.
The DVD gift set includes all eight seasons of the show on 25 discs as well as bonus features.
Here’s a bonus feature from the set, bloopers from season 6:
