Jumping the Broom, the comedy about family drama, debuted on DVD
The movie follows two families getting together for the wedding of Sabrina Watson (Paula Patton, Precious) and Jason Taylor (Laz Alonso, Fast & Furious). The families’ differences are apparent and threaten to tear apart the couple’s wedding.
Angela Bassett (Boyz N the Hood), Loretta Devine (For Colored Girls), Mike Epps (both from Lottery Ticket) and Julie Bowen (TV’s Modern Family) also star in the PG-13 film.
The movie grossed $36 million in theaters after bowing to mixed reviews from critics.
The DVD was priced at $30.99 and Blu-ray at $35.99.
Both the DVD and Blu-ray include these special features:
- director and cast commentary
- featurette “You’re Invited: Behind the Scenes”
- and featurette “Honoring the Tradition of Jumping the Broom.”
The Blu-ray also offers Sony’s MovieIQ feed showing trivia about the movie as it plays.
