The fourteenth season of the long-running animated — but for adult audiences — TV show The Simpsons includes a special Limited Edition Collector’s Box with Kang’s head on DVD.
Season 14 has 22 episodes of off-the-wall comedy with Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie in the misfit city of Springfield. Guest stars in this season include rock ‘n’ roll legends Mick Jagger, Keith Richards (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), Tom Petty, Lenny Kravitz, Elvis Costello, Little Richard, Blink-182 and Brian Setzer.
Among the actors lending their voices to the show in this season are Elliott Gould (Contagion), Marisa Tomei (The Lincoln Lawyer), Hank Azaria (The Smurfs), Adam West (Family Guy: It’s a Trap) and Burt Ward (TV’s Batman). And skateboarding star Tony Hawk is in the series’ 300th episode, which also is included in The Simpsons: The Fourteenth Season DVD and Blu-ray sets.
In the season, Homer clones himself, Marge accidentally gets breast implants, Bart and Lisa end up in the same class, baby Maggie stops Moe from commiting suicide, and the family joins a reality TV show, among other mishaps.
The Simpsons, which was created by Matt Groening (Futurama), has won a whopping 27 Emmy Awards as of this writing.
Both the DVD and Blu-ray are packed with special features. Here’s the list:
- deleted scenes
- never-before-released footage
- audio commentaries
- sketch galleries
- original animated menus
- special language feature
- and more.
