A weekend of fun in the sun for seven vacationers at a lake house turns into a nightmare in the 2011 action thriller movie Shark Night.
The moment Sara (Sara Paxton, The Last House On the Left) and her friends arrive at her parents’ Louisiana lake house, the party is in full gear. Everyone is having a blast until Malik (Sinqua Walls, The Second Half) loses his arm in what initially appears to be a tragic wake-boarding mishap. Determined to get him to the nearest hospital as quickly as possible, the gang is far from shore when they realize the lake is teeming with hungry sharks, and a tiny speedboat isn’t about to stop the hunters from getting their next meal!
Directed by David R. Ellis (The Final Destination), the movie co-stars Dustin Milligan (Slither), Chris Carmack (TV’s The O.C.), Katharine McPhee (The House Bunny), Chris Zylka (The Secret Circle) and Joel David Moore (Avatar).
Originally presented in 3D in theaters when it was released wide in September 2011, the PG-13-rated Shark Night rang up $19 million at the domestic box office. Perhaps its lukewarm gross is the reason why it’s not being issued on Blu-ray 3D at this time.
