The fourth movie in the unstoppable vampire franchise needs no introduction. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 pulled in a very healthy $266 million when it was in theaters, giving all Team Edward and Team Jacob fans more of the juicy story they love.
Based on the best-selling books by Stephenie Meyer, Breaking Dawn Part 1 continues the love triangle between Bella (Kristen Stewart, The Runaways), vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson, Water for Elephants) and werewolf Jacob (Taylor Lautner, Abduction). In this movie, Bella and Edward get married and, somehow, conceive a child, which threatens Jacob’s Wolf Pack and the people of the small town of Forks.
The first film in the fantasy series directed by Bill Condon (Dreamgirls), PG-13-rated Breaking Dawn Part 1 also stars Nikki Reed (Catch .44), Kellan Lutz (Arena) and Peter Facinelli (TV’s Nurse Jackie).
On DVD and Blu-ray in time for Valentine’s Day, Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1‘s release date is a Friday — usual for the Twilight films — to allow for midnight launch parties, all of which are listed at the movie’s website.
Both the two-disc DVD and single-disc Blu-ray contain plenty of special features. Here’s the list:
- six-part making-of documentary
- wedding video
- featurette “Jacob’s Destiny”
- commentary with director Bill Condon
- two fast forward features for scenes with Edward or Jacob.
