Falling SkiesSteven Spielberg tackles aliens again in TNT’s science-fiction TV show Falling Skies.

The director of E.T. and War of the Worlds executive produces Falling Skies, which begins in the aftermath of an alien attack that destroyed much of the world. The few survivors have banded together outside the major cities to begin to fight back against the aliens, who are highly intelligent, use military-like tactics and have a special use for human children.

E.R.‘s Noah Wyle stars as Tom Mason, a Boston history professor whose family was torn apart in the attack. Using his military history knowledge, he becomes one of the leaders of the Boston-born resistance movement known as the 2nd Mass. Tom works with Anne Glass (Moon Bloodgood, Beautiful Boy), a pediatrician who becomes the medic for 2nd Mass.

The television series also stars Will Patton (Armageddon) as a leader of the resistance, Drew Roy (Secretariat) as Tom’s oldest son and a fighter, Maxim Knight (TV’s Brothers & Sisters) as Tom’s youngest son, and Connor Jessup (TV’s The Saddle Club) as Ben, Tom’s son who was recently rescued from the aliens.

A web comic about the show is available on the Falling Skies website.

The Hollywood Reporter called Falling Skies “superb and entertaining.”

The DVD and Blu-ray include all 10 episodes of the first season, including the two-hour premiere and season finale “Eight Hours.”
