Dreama Walker (TV’s Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23), Ann Dowd (Garden State) and Pat Healy (The Innkeepers) star in the 2012 film Compliance, an independent crime-drama thriller reportedly inspired by true events that tells a story of just how far one might go to obey a figure of authority.

On a busy day at a suburban Ohio fast food joint, high-strung manager Sandra (Dowd) receives a phone call from a police officer (Healy) saying that an employee, a pretty young blonde named Becky (Walker), has stolen money from a customer. Convinced she’s only doing what’s right, Sandra commences the investigation, following step-by-step instructions from the officer at the other end of the line, no matter how invasive they become. Things gets quite uncomfortable, to say the least.

Written and directed by Craig Zobel, the R-rated Compliance was very well-received by critics, with Rotten Tomatoes rating the film 7.7/10 based on 91 published reviews. The movie premiered as a video-on-demand title and had a limited release to U.S. theaters in August, 2012, where it rang up $320,000.

We’ve enjoyed Dream Walker ever since we first caught her at Clint Eastwood’s granddaughter in 2008’s Gran Torino and, more recently, in TV’s truly nutty Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23, where she holds her own opposite Krysten Ritter (Vamps).
