Forest Whitaker (Catch .44) and Michael Chiklis (TV’s The Commish) reunite for the for the first time since last decade’s television smash The Shield in the 2013 crime thriller film Pawn.

Late at night at a diner, a cop (Whitaker) walks in on a robbery in progress. But just as everything goes wrong for the robbers, even more complications and confusion ensues, resulting in a dangerous hostage situation. The building is soon surrounded by law enforcers and trigger-fingers quickly grow restless.  The situation ultimately leads to a series of last chances, double-crosses and a deadly game of dirty deals where anyone can be a pawn.

The directorial debut of cinematographer David A. Armstrong (cinematographer of the Saw movies), Pawn, which was co-produced by Chiklis, also stars Common (The Odd Life of Timothy Green), Stephen Lang (Conan the Barbarian), Nikki Reed (the Twilight series), Sean Faris (Never Back Down), Jessica Szohr (Piranha) and Ray Liotta (Something Wild).

This one might pop onto a screen or two, or possibly a VOD opportunity, but as of now, it’s premiering on disc.

As a bonus feature, the DVD and Blu-ray include a behind-the-scenes featurette.

We haven’t heard much about this one, but the men in the cast are definitely manly, and mademoiselles Reed and Szohr are indeed lovely, so there’s surely gonna be something on the screen to look at!
