Don JonActor Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Looper) graduates from writing and directing short films to his first feature with Don Jon.

The movie follows Jon Martello (Gordon-Levitt), a good-looking womanizer who loves sex with real women but loves porn even more. When he meets Barbara Sugarman (Scarlett Johansson, Hitchcock), he falls hard and quickly becomes a one woman man.

Barbara, however, thinks real life should be like romantic movies, and when she discovers Jon’s love of internet women, she gives him an ultimatum. Trying to be the man Barbara wants him to be proves challenging, and soon, Jon’s re-thinking everything he knows about love and sex.

Rated R, the 90-minute movie also stars Julianne Moore (The Big Lebowski), Tony Danza (TV’s Family Law), Glenne Headly (The Joneses), Brie Larson (The Spectacular Now) and Rob Brown (TV’s Treme).

Don Jon Blu-ray boxReleased wide in theaters, Don Jon made a respectable $24 million, but it was missed by lots. Critics loved the film, giving it 81% approval, but moviegoers were a bit warmer, giving it 69%, according to Rotten Tomatoes.
