Oscar-nominee Up in the Air was released on DVD and Blu-ray on March 9, 2010, by Paramount Home Entertainment.
The George Clooney (The American) starring film earned six Oscar nominations — directing (Juno‘s Jason Reitman), actor (Clooney), supporting actress twice (Orphan‘s Vera Farmiga and Twilight‘s Anna Kendrick), adapted screenplay (Reitman and Sheldon Turner) and Best Picture — but didn’t take home any wins.
The drama movie tells the story of a corporate downsizer whose on-the-road job has brought him in reach of 10 million frequent flier miles, a goal he coverts, and the frequent-traveling woman of his dreams — right before it’s all threatened to go away. Jason Bateman (The Switch) also stars.
The DVD and Blu-ray contain these special features:
- commentary by Reitman, director of photography Eric Steelberg and first assistant director Jason Blumenfeld
- “Shadowplay: Where Credits Get Their Due”
- “Help Yourself” by Sad Brad music video
- storyboard video
- deleted scenes with optional commentary by Reitman
- American Airlines Prank
The Up in the Air DVD was priced at $29.99 and Blu-ray at $39.99.
