New Release: All About Eve Blu-ray Book

Bette Davis fans can take off their seatbelts for a smooth night of movie viewing. Her classic film All About Eve arrived on Blu-ray Disc from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment on Feb. 1, 2011.

The quintessential Broadway drama tells the story of Eve Harrington (Anne Baxter, The Ten Commandments), who, from the moment she glimpses her idol at the stage door, is determined to take the reins of power away from the great actress Margo Channing (Bette Davis, Where Love Has Gone).

Eve maneuvers her way into Margo’s Broadway role, becomes a sensation and even causes turmoil in the lives of Margo’s director boyfriend (Gary Merrill, Decision Before Dawn), her playwright (Hugh Marlowe, Night and the City) and his wife (Celeste Holm, The Tender Trap). Only the cynical drama critic (George Sanders, Village of the Damned) sees through Eve, admiring her audacity and perfect pattern of deceit.

The highly acclaimed 1951 classic film received a record 14 Academy Award nominations and six wins, including Best Picture, Best Actor (Sanders) and Best Director (Joseph L. Mankiewicz, A Letter to Three Wives).

All About Eve is in limited edition Blu-ray Book packaging and includes a handful of special features, including a commentary, featurettes and a stills gallery. As with An Affair to Remember, which Fox also released on Blu-ray on Feb. 1, most of the Blu-ray bonuses were featured on the DVD release several years ago.
