Say hello to this little friend!
In anticipation of the Blu-ray debut of Scarface on Sept. 6, Universal Studios Home Entertainment and NCM Fathom will present a special screening of the 1983 cocaine-fueled crime film in 475 movie theaters across the country for one night only, on Wednesday, Aug. 31, at 7:30 p.m.
Starring Al Pacino (Carlito’s Way), written by Oliver Stone (Platoon) and directed by Brian De Palma (Blow Out), Scarface has lost none of its impact, intensity and over-the-top fury, so fans who’ve never seen it in the theater should jump on this opportunity to catch the film in all its widescreen glory.
Scarface arrives in theaters with a new restored high-definition picture and enhanced audio, just as it will appear on Blu-ray when it hits the street a week later. The film will play in theaters nationwide via a newly developed digital cinema projection system.
Also scheduled for the screening in theaters along with the film is the premiere of a 20-minute featurette on the enduring popularity and influence of Scarface. The featurette is one of many supplemental extras that appear on Universal’s Blu-ray disc.
Tickets are available at the Fathom Events website.
