Based on the 1896 play by Russia’s renowned Anton Chekhov, The Seagull is brought to the screen by Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer (2007 Best Direction of a Musical, Spring Awakening) and Tony Award-winning screenwriter Stephen Karam (2016 Best Play, The Humans).

The film is take place one summer at a lakeside Russian estate, friends and family gather for a weekend in the countryside.  While everyone is caught up in passionately loving someone who loves somebody else, a drama-comedy unfolds about art, fame, human folly and the eternal desire to live a purposeful life.

The film features a star-studded cast led by four-time Academy Award® nominee and two-time Golden Globe winner Annette Bening (Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool). The supporting cast includes Saoirse Ronan (Brooklyn), Elisabeth Moss (TV’s The Handmaid’s Tale), Mare Winningham (Hatfields &McCoys) and Brian Dennehy (The Next Three Days).

Special features on The Seagull include cast and crew red carpet interviews and a post-screening Q & A from the Tribeca Film Festival with director Michael Mayer and the cast, along with a City Cinemas Q & A with Mayer and Bening.
